Summer
Updates
Welcome
back, Lutes!
All students
are invited to a Pancake Feed in Red Square on Monday, September
5, 2005 from 8 - 10 a.m. Bring your appetite, summer stories and
desire to see friends old and new!
- Information
and Technology Services (formerly known as Information Resources)
has begun a project this summer to create wireless access points
in campus residence hall lounges. As lounges are enabled with
wireless network access, they will be posted at: www.plu.edu/~resnet/wireless-networking/home.html.
- Construction
of the Morken Center for Learning & Technology, the largest
single capital project in PLUs history, continues apace.
You will see the completed building shell when you arrive in the
fall. This summers projects include reviewing building technology
and planning for the landscaping and interior work that will begin
in the fall.
- The Big
Dig has begun! A major ground-work project is underway on
campus this summer to implement the first major upgrade of physical
communications pathways in 15 years. The Big Dig will create a
new telecommunication backbone that supports future construction
and makes our current campus systems (i.e. Internet and phone
services) easier to upgrade. Associated landscape changes and
repaving will significantly improve drainage and accessibility
on upper-campus.
2005-2006

Student Involvement & Leadership Office, Student Services Center
or the Student Life Office on September 6, 2005.

about PLUs conduct expectations or procedures.
