South Hall Assignments

Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the next steps of the South Hall Process.

Who has been assigned to South Hall for 2009-2010?
Students assigned to South Hall have been notified via their PLU email accounts, as of March 4, 2009.

Are apartments still available?

For the latest information please contact the Office of Residential Life at X7200 or rlif@plu.edu.

What if I am placed on a waitlist?
Students are placed on a waitlist if the apartment(s) they applied for have already been filled. Applications are placed in priority point order. Students on these lists will be contacted if an apartment becomes available. For more information on South Hall waitlists please contact the office of Residential Life.

When will the assignments be updated?
South Hall assignments will be reviewed and updated as necessary on the 15th of each month. If an opening occurs the student(s) at the top of the waitlist will be placed in the available apartment.

If assigned to South, when can I select a specific apartment?
Students assigned to South can select a specific apartment or squat an apartment between Monday, March 9th and Friday, March 13th 2009 at the Office of Residential Life.

All apartment and room preference forms must be completed and submitted to Residential Life by 5:00 pm, on Friday, March 13th to be considered with priority points. Residents who wish to squat their specific 2008-2009 apartment must attend. Incomplete forms will not receive priority points or squatting privileges, and will be assigned to an apartment from those that remain after the initial assignments are made. Apartment assignment notification will be sent on March 18th.

I cannot come select a specific apartment. What should I do?
Students currently Studying Away, can send an email to Residential Life (rlif@plu.edu) indicating his/her preferences; this should be received in the Office of Residential Life no later than 5:00 pm, on Friday, March 13th.

Can I look at a South Hall apartment?
As we currently have students residing in South Hall, we are unable to show apartments at this time. A complete list of apartments and floor plans are available outside of the Residential Life Office (University Center 161).

What if I no longer want to live in South Hall?
Students who would like to cancel their South Hall housing assignment can submit a Cancellation Request on-line at the Residential Life website. Please be aware Contract Cancellation deadlines may apply. (reference the Residential Life website for specific dates and penalties).
