Residence Hall Preference
Read the description of each hall then choose your top four halls in order of preference below. The earlier you submit this form the more likely you will be assigned to one of your top ranked halls.

Harstad Hall

This single gender community is home to the Women's Empowerment and Gender Equity Residential Learning Community (RLC), promoting this theme through programming, activism, education, leadership opportunities, and reflection. Two of the four of the first year wings will be linked with specific First Year Experience Program (FYEP) courses on the topic of gender equality and social justice.

Hinderlie Hall

Hinderlie Community for Creative Expression (HCCE) challenges residents to explore the meaning of creativity in our world and promotes creativity as a mechanism of expression, activism, leadership, and reflection. Hinderlie residents are required to submit a supplemental application which is available here: Hinderlie Application.  Hinderlie is home to one of three Gender Inclusive Housing wings. ALL of the first year wings will be linked with specific First Year Experience Program (FYEP) courses on the topic of creativity.

Hong Hall

Hong International Hall (HIH) comprises six language and culture houses: Chinese, French, German, Norwegian, Spanish, and an International Honors House. Hong residents are required to submit a supplemental application which is available here: Hong Application.  ALL of the first years assigned to a language wing will be linked with specific First Year Experience Program (FYEP) course on the topic of global education and awareness.


Ordal Hall

Ordal is home to both new and returning PLU students and our NEW Lavender Community.  The Lavender Community is a NEW Gender Inclusive Housing wing with a LGBTQ+ focus.  This community is designed for students who want a Gender Inclusive living experience and a co-curricular focus on exploring LGBTQ+ identifies.  Ordal was recently renovated in 2015.


Pflueger Hall

Located on lower campus, Pflueger is home to both new and returning PLU students. Pflueger is home to two Mixed Gender Wings, located on the third floor.


Stuen Hall

NEW for 2017 - Stuen is home to three themed floors emphasizing Diversity, Justice and Sustainability: First in the Family, Students of Color, and Social & Environmental Justice.This hall is for students interested in gaining and increased understanding of their cultural identities through reflection on values while learning how to create positive change in their communities. ALL first years will be linked with specific First Year Experience Program (FYEP) course on the topic of social justice, but only new first year studentswho identify as first generation will be assigned to the First in the Family community. All Stuen residents are required to submit a supplemental application which is available here: DJS Application.  


Tingelstad Hall

Tingelstad is home to both new and returning PLU students and one Gender Inclusive wing. This lower campus hall is also home to our Wellness House and our NEW STEM House. The Wellness House is for students interested in wellness and should submit a supplemental application which is available here: Wellness House Application.  The STEM House is for students who share a passion for or are pursing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math. Kreidler Hall*

A traditional residence hall comprised entirely of single rooms. Shared bathrooms and kitchens are available.


South Hall*

An apartment style residence hall. Apartment styles vary but each has a full kitchen, bathroom, and dining room. Limited married/domestic partnership housing is available. Family housing is not available.

*Housing for Kreidler and South Halls are reserved for students who are at least 20 years old, and/or have attained junior (60 credits) or graduate status by September 1st for academic year applicants or February 1st for Spring applicants.

*All roommate requests must be mutual.  Students must be assigned to the same hall before being matched with a specific roommate.
