Science & Politics of Vehicle Emissions
Speaker for the Puget Sound Section of the American Chemical Society

A basic description of the chemistry of automobile and diesel exhaust emissions leads to a description of the invention and application of the University of Denvers on-road remote sensing tool which can monitor 5000 vehicle emissions in a days work. The results from studies of millions of vehicles, why this invention is not widely used, and how it could be used is followed by a description of our most recent invention which can do a similar, although more comprehensive, test for heavy duty trucks.
