Marv Tommervik

Marv Tommervik was selected in 2013 for inclusion in the PAC-12 Football Officials Association’s Field of Honor. This was in recognition of his 20 years of service in the PIOB, the PAC-8 and PAC-10. The Field of Honor ceremony was held July 26, 2013, at the Stanford Football Stadium. At Pacific Lutheran University, Tommervik starred in football and became a Professor of Education and Athletic Director (1946-52) and eventually football and baseball coach. He was owner-operator of Parkland Fuel Oil Service from 1952-82. Tommervik officiated two Rose Bowls, in 1971 and 1975, and two East-West games. In 1963, Tommervik was inducted into the Helms National Association of Intercollegiate Football Hall of Fame. He served as president of the Western Washington Football Officials Association and was honored as a distinguished alumni by PLU in 1969 and 1990. He also served as the president of the Tacoma Athletic Commission and the PLU Alumni Association.
