The Scandinavian Cultural Center is excited to welcome Nordic Fiddlers Bloc to Pacific Lutheran University on Sunday, October 9th, for a dance. The wooden floors of Chris Knutzen Hall, on the main floor of the Anderson University Center, will make a great venue for traditional Scandinavian ring dancing. Starting at 7pm, the fiddlers will warm up the crowd with a concert, and then the chairs will get pushed back, the lemonade and cookies brought out, and the dancing will begin!

The trio is comprised of three accomplished musicians. Olav Mjelva from Norway was Folk Musician of the year for 2013, and he plays on a traditional Hardanger Fiddle. Kevin Henderson is from the Shetland Islands and is internationally renown for his tremendous fiddle playing. Anders Hall from Sweden rounds out this amazing trio with his wide-ranging ability on the viola, fiddle, and Hardanger fiddle.

Though a Sunday evening is not the traditional time for a rousing dance, it was the only time we could get them on their West Coast Tour. We hope everyone will be in the mood to join in the fun, which will last as long as the fiddlers want to play!

Tickets are available from the PLU Concierge by calling (253) 535-7411 for $10 general admission, $8 for members of the SCC and for members of Skandia Folkdance Society.
