Award winning painter David Gray ’92 recreates both people and still life so perfectly, it sometimes seems his work must have been captured by a camera.
“I am a realist. I’m not trying to fool you into thinking it’s a photograph, but at the same time, I want you to take a second look,” Gray said.
Gray, who works on his art full-time, won first prize in the Oil Painters of America Western Region Small Painting Exhibition at the Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara, Calif., two years ago. His work has been displayed at Howard Mandville Art Gallery in Kirkland, Wash., and at at Eisenhauer Gallery in Martha's Vineyard.
