The Seattle Times Company offers opportunities for hands-on learning. Our internship programs are designed to jump-start the careers of talented journalists, from undergraduates to entry-level professionals. Requirements vary, but each program offers invaluable exposure, specialized training and personal career development to beginners committed to print journalism. The Seattle Times offers paid summer internships to outstanding students pursuing a career in journalism. For 10 weeks, interns work on varied assignments. They attend weekly training sessions given by members of a Pulitzer-Prize winning staff. Interns receive a skill-development plan and a staff mentor to support them in achieving it.

Accepts applications for account management and design interns year-round. Interns must have completed at least two years of college-level studies. Internships are generally full-time for eight to 12 weeks and are paid. 

• One Reel: Event Production Internship 
One Reel’s internships are intensive, challenging and rewarding learning opportunities, offering interns exposure to the exciting world of large-scale events, non-profit management and every aspect inherent in producing some of the greatest events in the country. 

• Tacoma News Tribune 
We're looking for smart, curiosity-driven self-starters who are interested in picking up professional experience in news features or sports reporting, copy editing/page design, online or photography. Your school must provide academic credit for the experience. These positions are not paid. Internships last about 8-10 weeks, depending on circumstances.  

•  Seattle Magazine | Editorial 
Editorial internships are available at Seattle magazine throughout the year. Most require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week in our office, during business hours. Work schedules are usually either a morning shift or an afternoon shift. Internships generally last for six months and openings occur approximately every three to four months. Academic credit is available. If academic credit is not needed, a nominal stipend is paid.

•  Seattle Magazine | Marketing and Events
Assist with the production of events and promotions for Seattle magazine and its sister publications. This internship typically has a fourth month commitment.

•  Premier Media Group – Editorial
Premier Media Group produces two local magazines South Sound Magazine and 425 Magazine. This internship is best for advanced students who want hands on experience. Walk away with clips – can be done for either credit or pay.  Apply to with a cover letter, resume and examples of work.
