Leadership Recognition

Through the Annual Celebration of Leadership, PLU celebrates students who live lives of thoughtful inquiry, service, leadership and care while empowering their peers to do the same.  Through the awards listed below, Student Involvement and Leadership encourages faculty, administrators, staff and students to take time to acknowledge the phenomenal students that give PLU vision and energy through their leadership.

Senior Recognition

Pinnacle Society

At PLU, Pinnacle Society is our highest honor for leadership and co-curricular involvement.  Graduating seniors are nominated by the PLU community.  Pinnacle members are selected by a committee and reviewed by Dr. Laura Majovski, V.P. for Student Life. Recipients will be presented with a framed certificate of membership and a commemorative sash, to be worn at commencement. 

Certificate of Accomplishment

The Certificate of Achievement honors graduating seniors who have made positive contributions to the life of this campus through their co-curricular involvement. Nominees are recommended through the Pinnacle Society nomination process.  Nominations will be displayed at the Celebration of Leadership and recipients will receive a certificate.

This national honor recognizes students with graduate, senior and junior standing for outstanding scholastic achievements, community service, and leadership experiences.  

Continuing Student Recognition

Leaders of Distinction

Leader of Distinction is an honor that recognizes outstanding leadership in continuing students.  Continued growth has been seen in the commitment and leadership of these students, and they show promise for strong continuation of this involvement.  All nominees are honored at the Celebration of Leadership with a certificate; out of this group 2-3 are selected to attend a professional development opportunity sponsored by the university up to $500.

Recognition Open to All Students

Certificate of Recognition

The Certificate of Recognition honors the time and effort that members of clubs and organizations on campus invest throughout the academic year. Nominations are displayed at the Celebration of Leadership along with pictures from highlight events.
