Student Involvement and Leadership

Discovering Horizons Together: New Student Orientation

PLU recognizes that going to college is a new chapter not only in the lives of the student, but also in the lives of parents, relatives, and friends of that student.

New Student Orientation is offered each Fall and Spring. NSO is designed to help new students become knowledgeable about Pacific Lutheran University and comfortable with new classes and classmates. Numerous activities are planned to provide students with opportunities to meet fellow students, identify rewarding involvement opportunities and equip themselves for success.

Student Involvement and Leadership, along with numerous campus partners, are here to help and direct you, answer your questions, address your concerns, and learn from you.

We sincerely believe that orientation is a process, not merely an event. Therefore, we have designed the orientation programs with you—students, parents, friends, spouses, and other relatives—in mind. New Student Orienation, which runs for four days this year, will help acclimate you to the PLU community.

Once again, welcome to the Lute family. We look forward to meeting you at Orientation!
