Summer Updates

The campus is too quiet!
We miss you and look forward to your return in September.

Computers

All student computers connected to the PLU network must have a current anti-virus subscription on them. PLU provides this software free. Please download the free anti-virus software at www.plu.edu/antivirus and begin your anti-virus service. You will need your ePass. Failure to do so may incur a penalty or restriction from the PLU network.

Summer Projects

  • Hinderlie Hall is being remodeled with a commitment to sustainability, safety, and enhancing the living-learning experience.  Improvements include: remodeled bathrooms with larger showers and private changing areas; resident rooms with new paint, mattresses, deadbolts, and 2nd Ethernet port; common areas with new lounge/study furniture, paint, carpet, and front desk reception area.  Finally, Hinderlie will have a new roof installed.

  • The studios in Ingram are being renovated for graphic design, sculpture and woodworking.
  • Several of the classrooms in Hauge are getting new furniture.

2008-2009 Student Planner

The Daily Planner and Student Handbook is pre-printed with important PLU information! Residential students will receive their planners during move-in.  New off-campus students will receive a planner during Orientation.  Students can also pick one up at the Student Involvement & Leadership Office, Student Services Center or the Student Life Office beginning September 8.

Student Code of Conduct

PLU is a community in which every member has a vital role in creating and maintaining a positive educational environment. Therefore, each student is expected to be familiar with and uphold all university policies. Please review the Code of Conduct at www.plu.edu/print/handbook. Ignorance of policy is not an excuse for violating it! Please contact the Student Involvement & Leadership Office at 253-535-7195 (sil@plu.edu) if you have any questions about PLU’s conduct expectations or procedures.

Orientation & On the Road

Check out www.plu.edu/new-students for this fall's orientation events: First Year, Transfer, International Student Schedules, On the Road and Parent Information.

Hall Opening

The residence halls open for check-in beginning Thursday, September 4. New student (first-year and transfer) check-in begins at 9 a.m. This early opening is intended to give new students an opportunity to settle in prior to orientation events starting in the afternoon. Returning students are welcome to begin check-in at 11 a.m. South Hall opens Sunday, August 31 for all residents.

During Welcome Weekend (Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September 7) the halls will be staffed for check-in until 9 p.m. Check-ins prior to opening (September 4) are by prearrangement only. This is coordinated by coaches, advisors and supervisors. Only students pre-approved by their coach, advisor, or supervisor will be considered for early arrival.
