Each year, faces from the Division of Student Life and responsibilities change a bit.  Below, we offer a visual of who we are: our leadership team and the departments they oversee.


Dean for Student Academic Success

Pat Roundy

Patricia Roundy continues her role of Dean for Student Academic Success, in addition to being Director of Academic Advising.

Each of the following offices work together under Pat's leadership in the Ramstad Commons: Academic Advising, Academic Assistance, Academic Internships, Career Development, Center for Public Service/Volunteer Center, Disability Support Services, and Student Employment.  Division of Student Life departments are: Career Development, Disability Support Services, and Student Employment fall under the Student Life Division.

Dean for Student Development

Eva Johnson

Eva Johnson returns this year as Dean of Student Development, and continues her role as Director of Student Involvement and Leadership (SIL).  She oversees divisional assessment and retention programs, as well as student activities and leadership programs.

Assistant Dean for Campus Life

Tom Huelsbeck

Tom Huelsbeck continues as the Assistant Dean for Campus Life and Director of Residential Life (Residential Operations).  He also oversees the daily operations of Campus Safety and parking.  (Campus Safety emergency operations report to the Vice President for Student Life).

Campus Safety

Greg Premo (right) joins PLU this year.  He is the Director of Campus Safety, and is also a Sergeant with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

Returning are Director of Career Development Ruth Rogers (left), Career and Academic Advisor Pam Deacon-Joyner (second from left), and Career Counselor Dawn Clark (right).  Pam Deacon-Joyner works in both Career Development and Academic Advising offices.  Adam Geisler (second from right) joins Student Employment as Coordinator of that office.

Psychologist Mark Anderson (second from right) continues as Director of the Counseling Center and welcomes the new Administrative Assistant Tracy Daniels (second from left) and new Counseling Intern Amanda Mayoh (left) to the Counseling Center team.  He is joined by returning Psychologist Garrett Gilchrist (right). The Counseling Center shares new office space on the third floor (mezzanine) in the University Center with Disability Support Services (pictured below).

Returning are Director of Disability Support Services Ruth Tweeten (middle) and Assistant to the Director Trisha Staiger (right).  As mentioned above, Administrative Assistant Tracy Daniels (left) is new to the team and serves both the Counseling Center and Disability Support Services.

New in her role as Director, but not to the university, Nurse Practitioner Sherwin Ferguson (right) is the Director of the Health Center.  Also new to the team are Nurse Practitioner Emily Bianconi (left), and Health Educator and Registered Nurse Kara Rasplica (third from right).  Administrative Assistant Ruth Kohler (second from left), Ann Miller (third from left), and Nurse Practitioners Audry Kahlström (second from right) and Tamsin Sarich (not pictured) joined the team toward the end of Spring semester.  Returning this year are Clinic Coordinator Doreen Splinter (fourth from left) and Medical Assistant Jadie Green (fourth from right).

The Residential Life office staff includes Director of Residential Life Tom Huelsbeck (top row, right) and Director of Residential Programs Jeff Olsen Krengel (third row, right), who oversees the Resident Directors. Dana McDonald (front row, left) is the Residential Operations Coordinator, and Rebecca Rumpza (front row, middle) is the Office Supervisor and Facilities Coordinator.

We welcome three new Resident Directors: Katherine Knutsen (second row, left) – Harstad Hall; Nicole Scheer (second row, middle) – Hinderlie and Hong Halls; and Kate Schnurr (top row, left) – Ordal and Stuen Halls.  They are joined by returning Resident Directors: Shannah Paddock (front row, right) – Foss and Pflueger Halls, Cassandra Chapel (third row, left) – South and Kreidler Halls, and Christine Alberto (second row, right) - Tingelstad Hall.
