A J-Term program is held in January, between the end of the fall semester and the beginning of the spring semester. J-Term programs are led by a PLU faculty member, cover a wide range of subjects, and range in location from the Tacoma Hill Top to Tanzania. The chance to participate in these international and domestic study programs lets you immerse yourself in a country, culture or discipline that you never imagined - and get credit for it, too. All J-Term programs are approved for PLU institutional aid as well as federal and state financial aid.
The Wang Center will begin accepting applications for J-term 2013 on the first day of classes for spring term, February 8, 2012. The maximum number of applications accepted for any course is the course maximum plus 10 additional applications. At that time, the course is considered closed.
Global Scholar awards of up to $1,000 are available for J-term study to students with demonstrated financial need. Global Scholar applications are to be submitted to the Wang Center for J-term 2013 study.
The deadline for first consideration on Global Scholar awards is March 16, 2012, although we will continue to accept Global Scholar applications until all funds are disbursed.
The deadline for first consideration on J-term 2013 study away programs is April 13, 2012.
