  • Now working on Masters in Public Health at Emory University

I graduated in 2011 with majors in Global Studies and Sociology, and spent fall semester 2009 at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS) in Copenhagen, Denmark. After graduation I received a 13-month internship to work as a Science & Health Programs Assistant. I managed over 150 students in 3 academic programs, including working with Danish faculty and health professionals. A large portion of my job was planning, coordinating, and leading academic study tours for our students to experience the healthcare systems in several European countries. It was an incredible first full-time job after PLU — I worked long hours, but got paid to travel, made an incredible group of friends, and learned a lot from my colleagues. And now that I’m in a Masters of Public Health program, we talk about Denmark all the time as doing very well in many public health indicators, and I’ve experienced it first-hand.
