Approved Semester Programs

A PLU Approved Program is a study away summer, semester, or year-long program that is offered by a study away provider organization and is only recommended to students who are unable to find a program that fits their academic needs among the PLU Gateway or Featured programs. These programs cost the listed program fee on the provider’s website plus a $1,500 administrative fee. This covers the PLU credit earned, housing, study tours (depends on the program), emergency medical insurance, and sometimes meals. Program costs are generally comparable to PLU’s comprehensive fee (tuition, fees and room and board).  Depending on the cost of the Approved Program in comparison to the PLU comprehensive fee (tuition, fees and room and board) PLU scholarships/financial aid is typically reduced according to the difference in cost between the program and the PLU comprehensive fee. State and federal financial aid applies. We recommend applying for program-specific scholarships. Students will need to apply through the Wang Center first for the program, and then through the provider, if approved.
