It was a crisp, autumn morning on October 19th in the year 1990 when Ben Cruz took his first breath and saw the majestic light they call the sun for the very first time. Growing up, Ben didn't’t stray far from the beaten path of his three elder siblings in that he attended all the same schools, hung out with similar friend groups, and enjoyed playing outside instead of studying. Ben always had a knack for problem-solving and getting people to smile. He believes that if he does not make at least seven people smile each day; he has failed in his attempt to brighten the lives of the masses. Like many first-years in college, Ben found himself with no money, no friends, and no job. So, in his attempt to solve the aforementioned problems, Ben decided to apply for a job at the Sustainability Department at Pacific Lutheran University. Here he found his place with many like-minded individuals and also he found a place where he could share a laugh or two. Two years later, now a junior, he still reaps the benefits of working at Sustainability. The rest, they say, is history.
