I joined the Sustainability Department in September of 2011 with the mission of bringing new life to the SurPLUs garage. The majority of my time is spent making advertisements promoting the space, and organizing items that are brought to the garage so that they can be resold and reused instead of being placed in a landfill. I also collaborate with Chris Jordan, who is the Duke of Surplus, on planning events for SurPLUs, as well as ideas concerning the future of SurPLUs. I grew up in Olympia, Washington, and plan to graduate PLU in May of 2013 after earning a BFA in Graphic Design. I am also member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the ReDesign group, and have maintained a place on the Dean's List here at PLU for the past 3 semesters. My goal is to further spread the word of Sustainability and the SurPLUs garage through innovative and creatively designed advertisements around the campus and community.
