As a transfer student, you bring unique experiences that enrich the PLU community. You have academic experience and while college isn’t new to you, you are changing environments—and that can be both exciting and challenging!
Whether you have joined us from a community college or another four-year institution, you live in the residence halls or away from campus, we are excited you are here and eager to help you settle into your new community. From orientation to helping you find those perfect niches to get involved, and all the questions you’ll find along the way, PLU offers a variety of services tailored to students’ diverse needs.
This website is designed to help you find the resources you need – wherever you are on your PLU journey. We are here to help, so don’t hesitate to pick up the phone, shoot us an email, or drop by our offices.
Hit the ground running!
5 Ways to Make Your Start a great One
- Think about getting involved! Check out the Clubs and Organizations website.
- Sign up for a commuter locker! – visit Student Involvement and Leadership in the lower level of the UC. Don’t forget to bring your own combination lock!
- Come to orientation! You do NOT want to miss this essential information and great time. Click here for the full schedule.
- Sign up for Peer Transfer Connections!- In Peer Transfer Connections (of PTC, as we like to call it), we pair new transfer students with more seasoned transfer students. You may share majors, interests, of life circumstances. Peer transfer partners may share information about resources on campus, facilitate tours or outings, introduce you to some of the professors you may have, and just be there as a good resource – and hopefully a new friend! To sign up or ask questions, email transfer@plu.edu or swing by Student Involvement and Leadership in the UC.
- Find a job! – Visit student employment for on and off campus job postings as well as hiring information.
