Host of several programs to better the Tacoma community: Severe Weather Shelter Program- A shelter to aid the homeless with a place to stay in the instance of harsh weather conditions.

Covenant House

Work with the homeless and/or runaway youth, as you live at the covenant house for a year. Room and board are covered, and a small stipend will be provided.

From Me to You: Tacoma Urban League, Inc.

  • Distribute risk reduction information to Community Networks
  • Peer Educator: Educate the community about the risks of HIV/AIDS in various settings.
  • Program Development: designing and implementing change to the “From Me To You” program.
  • Outreach Worker: Conduct outreach activities in Pierce County in shelters, and other identified sites.

Helping Hand House

Volunteer with this organization determined to end homelessness. Help out doing office maintenance, unit cleanup and restocking, donation pick up and delivery, garbage removal, yard work, clerical assistance and administrative, carpet cleaning, plumbing, electric work, painting, web/data base maintenance, video development, recognition assistant.

Lions Club

Start a new Campus Lions group and volunteer in shelters and mentor young children, and access to leadership training.

Nativity House

Located in downtown Tacoma. The Nativity House is a place of respect and welcome. Provides day shelter, meals, community and personal assistance to the homeless. Volunteer to help prepare or serve a meal, hang clothes in clothing room, clean or visit with guests.
