National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Schedule of Events

November 14th-18th

Monday

All Day in Red Square and UC

Look for signs in Red Square with facts about hunger and homelessness. We will also be tabling in the UC for the week’s events.

Tuesday

8:30-10:30 pm in Xavier 201

Movie night! Take a study break to come watch “Pursuit of Happyness,” a movie about one man’s experiences with homelessness. Snacks provided by ASPLU.

Wednesday

11:30-1:00 pm at the UC Gray Area outside of the UC Commons

Learn about hunger by participating in Campus Ministry’s Feast or Famine Lunch!

5:30 pm in the UC Regency Room

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Panel! Listen to faculty, students, and community members discuss the issue of hunger and homelessness in the Tacoma area.

Thursday

4:30-6:30 pm at Olson Field House

Children of the Nations meal packaging event sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Sign up for a half hour shift in the Volunteer Center or by stopping at our table in the UC on Monday!

5:30-7:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church

Join us for the Community Dinner at Trinity Lutheran Church, just across the street! Sign up to help set up and serve for the event or just attend and meet members of your surrounding community!  Decorations provided by the PLU International Club.
