From June 1, 2011, Professor Barnowe has joined the Wang Center where he focuses his energies on PLU’s extensive programs and contacts with China. In fall semester 2011, Prof Barnowe will be the site director of PLU’s China program in Chengdu, Sichuan.
This follows a distinguished career of teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in global business, organizational design, leadership, and organizational change. He has been the recipient of three year-long Fulbright grants: Zhongshan University in Guangzhou, China; Oslo Business School in Norway; and Poznań School of Management and Banking in Poland. He has taken numerous groups of PLU students to China for J-term and semester-long study away experiences. His community service includes more than ten years on the Board of Directors for World Trade Center Tacoma (including Board Chair), and for nearly twenty years as an officer and board member for the South Puget Sound chapter of the Northwest Human Resource Management Association/Society for Human Resource Management.
