The Wang Center for Global and Community Engaged Education

Made possible by a generous gift from Drs. Grace and Peter Wang, the Center is an academic support unit dedicated to providing faculty, students and staff with the resources necessary to advance PLU’s distinction and vision for global education of “educating for a just, healthy, sustainable, and peaceful world at home and abroad” through faculty development and grant opportunities, delivery of study away programs, on campus programming on pressing world issues, and a commitment to best practices when engaging with educational partners worldwide.

Know Your World

Pacific Lutheran University is poised to achieve even greater distinction in international education through the combined efforts of the Wang Center, the Global Education Committee (GEC) and a broad array of schools and departments. The Wang Center supports and enables students, faculty, staff, administrators and visiting scholars to study, intern, teach and research in a global context.

The professional development opportunities available through the Wang Center contribute to PLU’s ability to provide students with many challenging opportunities to experience the world, weaving global education through almost every aspect of a student’s academic study. World events shape our lives and PLU’s curriculum reflects that reality. At PLU, an international or study away experience is more than a core requirement.
