International Internship Opportunities in Namibia


Ministry of Environment and Tourism - Etosha National Park:  students will live and work along side of world-famous researchers inside Etosha National Park while they conduct their own research project.

Ministry of Trade and Industry:  A pre-law student will help implement intellectual property rights and policies.

TransNamib Holdings Ltd.:  Namibia's largest transport company that also operates a first class passenger train.  A student will work in their Human Resources department.

Institute of Public Policy Research (IPPR):  An independent think tank offering research perspectives on political and economic development strategies for the country.

NEPRU:  An autonomous non-governmental organization that undertakes applied socio-economic, policy-related research for and on behalf of the government of Namibia as well as other international institutions.

Sister Namibia:  A small non-profit organization that promotes sexual equality in Namibia through advocacy campaigns, education initiatives and a bi-monthly magazine.

Gamsberg Macmillan Publishers Ltd.:  the largest publishing house in Namibia as well as the largest distributors of educational materials in multiple indigenous languages.

IJG Irwin, Jacobs, Green (Pty) Lit.:  One of Namibia's leading financial sservices boutiques, serving the institutional market and specializing in stock broking, corporate finance, project finance and private equity investments.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:  Students live in furnished apartments in downtown Windhoek and work roughly 30 hours a week at their internship site.  There are two in-country coordinators to support the students.  Students will also take a minimum of one 'culture and society' course and an indigenous language course at UNAM.
