ObjectivesCollaboration in the design, management and coordination of care. Nursing Competencies I During my only clinical rotation I was not able to suggest changes in the resident's care. I believe that this is because at that point I was not knowledgeable enough to even begin thinking of ways that their care could be improved. However, thanks to my Professional Foundations course and my Health Assessment/Promotion course I believe that I am now better prepared to make a difference. During my clinical I was able to help one resident with Parkinson Disease when I researched techniques that I could show him to help him be mobile without endangering himself. I showed him little tricks on using his wheelchair and walker that have been proven to help and I believe that this was a good use of evidence-based care and collaborative care (with the client). I am looking forward to being able to collaborate with other health care providers in the future. |
