Objective

Research Experience

While I have not had much opportunity or practice at administering evidence-based care, I believe I have the skills necessary to do so. I am a psychology minor and took a psychology statistics course at PLU. This course provided me with the skills necessary to not only recognize claims supported by proper evidence, but also on how to actually conduct research (in the form of surveys) and form evidence from the results. I had to write a paper for this class, and my topic of choice was the amount of sleep student's get as they progress through college.

I also had to collaboratively work on a *paper for my Professional Foundations course. Our topic was condom distribution in school. On such a controversial topic, it is hard to find statistical evidence to support claims, but I managed to do so when I discussed the success of programs in schools. *Full paper coming soon.

I believe that once I have more freedom to care for clients in clinical settings, I will be able to use evidence-based practice to improve their health.
