Professional Foundations (Nursing 260) This class has been my biggest learning experience on how we can become active to influence the health care system. I have learned that even a simple thing such as being an active voter allows me to influence the health care delivery system. An example of this is illustrated by the fact that I voted on Initiative 1000 recently which has now passed and allows assisted suicide in the state of Washington. There are numerous little things that nurses can do to bring about change. I believe that joining a nursing organization is a great way to become active. |
Group Paper In my Professional Foundations course we had to write a group paper. The paper topic was condom distribution programs in public schools. During my research I came across a great example of influencing the health care delivery system. I discovered that school nurses have a great influence on these programs.
