Program Objective Demonstrate the ability to incorporate the dimensions of person, nursing, and environment to promote health in a variety of nursing situation.PROGRESS TOWARD OBJECTIVE: Current progress I have made toward this objective includes work completed in NURS 270. A teaching project was assigned; each student was required to pick a group of people to educate about a specific health promotion topic. I completed this project by teaching 15 three year old children how to properly brush their teeth. Below is a link to the teaching outline used to reach this objective. (link- coming soon) I have also completed progress toward this outcome during a home visit with a fellow co-hort's heart failure client. Although I have not been able to make contact with a client that has been assigned to myself I was able to make a home visit with PLAN FOR ACCOMPLISHING OBJECTIVE IN THE FUTURE: In the future I will work toward this objective by participating in community health and weekly during clinical rotations. Community health will allow me the opportunity to reach large groups of people to educate about health promotion. During clinicals I will be interacting with patients weekly, and health promotion is an on going process that can also be taught to a person. |
