Denis Arnold Assistant Professor Philosophy Chair of Legal Studies Program

A New Development

PLU offers the only undergraduate program in Legal Studies in the Pacific Northwest. Students who take courses in the Legal Studies program have the opportunity to work with dynamic faculty in disciplines as diverse as business, philosophy, and anthropology. The recently revised Legal Studies curriculum provides students with both a core introductory Legal Studies course, and a core upper division course that allows them to work closely with other Legal Studies minors under close faculty supervision.
Pacific Northwest Activities
The Pacific Northwest has splendid outdoor recreation opportunities. I especially enjoy hiking and camping in the Cascade Range and Olympic Mountains. Seattle and Tacoma also feature excellent music: anything from classical to alternative. My friends and I enjoy concerts throughout the year.
Post Undergraduate Degree Opportunities
A minor in Legal Studies, together with an appropriate major, provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in business, law enforcement, politics, journalism, and other fields. Students planning on attending law school find that the Legal Studies curriculum helps prepare them both for the required Law School Admissions Test and for their subsequent studies.
Come and Join Us
Students who think that they would benefit from a friendly, nurturing environment should thrive at PLU.
