Game On
Football is a year round lifestyle. This includes weightlifting, running, and mental preparation. Another area of preparation that is often overlooked is preparing academically. By this I mean budgeting my time so that I have enough of it to finish both my homework and practices effectively. This task calls for large amounts of organization.

Division III

By participating at the D-III level it makes for a ton of opportunity. Since D-III does not give athletic scholarships, the athletes that participate in the sport are there for the love of the game, not for the free education. This makes for more enjoyable practices, because everyone that is participating, wants to bet there. Plus at the D-III level the time commitment to one sport in the off-season is not as demanding, therefore I am able to participate in both wrestling and football. Whereas at a larger school, that would be nearly impossible.

Volunteering
My experience volunteering is key to making me both a better competitor and a better person. Growing up I had many very influential people in my life that have helped me get to where I am today. They came from all walks of life, but the most influential were my coaches. Through the sports that I participated in, I learned very important values that have helped me in even the toughest "real life" situations. For me to have the opportunity to give back is very important. When I was fourteen I started wrestling in a freestyle club in Chehalis, Washington, which held two separate practices. One practice for the younger kids, and another for the older kids. I used to show up early and help the younger kids learn the many different techniques of wrestling. Later, as I progressed through the sport into my late teens, I volunteered to coach young high school wrestlers.
