My favorite activity on campus is JAM 62, which is a college ministry on
Monday nights. We pray, worship, and hear a message that challenges my faith
and stretches me intensely with my spiritual walk. I have learned more in
these last years about faith than my entire life as a Christian. It has
been amazing and gratifying!
Travel Abroad
As a French minor, I plan to study abroad in France before I graduate.
For me, traveling abroad for a month in January works best for my class
schedule and I'm thankful for PLU's special J-Term opportunities.
Embracing our Diversity
One of the most amazing things about my freshman year was my roommate.
She was originally from Southern Africa and then moved to L.A., so we
grew up in very different areas and cultures. We would get so confused
about words because of the different usage that we used. She called the
bathtub a "hot tub" and the carpet a "ground." There were times when we
both had no idea what the other was talking about. Regardless of our different
cultures, we had so much to learn from each other and I'll never forget
what she taught me!
How you doing?
I met most of my close friends through the different Christian activities
on campus. I was also able to "find" lasting friendships through the different
freshman activities and during orientation week. It was so easy because
everyone was in the same boat. Most PLU students didn't know each other
previously so we were all eager to meet new people and fight loneliness!
