My SkillsUSA History » SkillsUSA member for 8 years Being a National Officer
Serving as a SkillsUSA National Officer presented me with many memorable opportunities. The first of these opportunities was laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and giving a speech at the eternal flame of JFK. It is one of the most memorable moments of my life.

Throughout the school year I work with the state officer team and am a resource for their many activities and assignments.Being a State Certified Trainer |
What It Offers SkillsUSA's goal to to prepare students for leadership in the world of work and in our societies. The benefit of SkillsUSA is that it not only provides students with a competitive edge in their chosen field, it also provides them with the experience of soft skills. Such as teamwork, public speaking, networking professionalism, organization, etc. Personally, SkillsUSA helped me to blossom as a leader. Through SkillsUSA I gained self-confidence and the ability to speak in front of any number of people. It wasn't until I competed in Extemporaneous speaking that my passion for public speaking blossomed. Also, SkillsUSA fed my interest in politics. As a state and national officer i met with legislators and congress to discuss the importance of Career and Technical Education Funding in our school systems. I can honestly say that SkillsUSA is a life-changing experience. |
