Trees in the canopy layer of the Rain Forest are as tall as 150 feet high and contain smooth, oval leaves that come to a point.  The trees in the canopy prevent rain from reaching plants below.  The canopy layer also contains a number of flowers and fruits including: thick, woody vines and epiphytes such as orchids, ferns, mosses and lichens.

Common Animals: Monkey, sloths, bats, treefrogs, ants, beetles, parrots, hummingbirds and snakes.
