Nursing 220 - Nursing Competencies

In my clinical work for this class at Linden Grove Nursing Home in Puyallup, I developed an appreciation for nurses who approached their work as much more than just a job.  I had worked in another nursing home and was starting to wonder if moral and professionalism in all nursing homes was as low as I had experienced there.  My Linden Grove experience was very reassuring and good.  The nursing staff clearly took their jobs seriously as a form of service rather than just what they did for a paycheck.  That is how I hope to be in my career.

Nursing 260 - Professional Foundations I

In this class I learned more about the role of nurses as valuable contributors to the community and the lives of individuals.  Good nurses are likely to think of their career as a calling to service rather than simply a career choice.

Nursing 270 - Health Assessment & Health Promotion

In the health promotion portion of this class I learned of the many ways that nurses become involved in community education in order to prevent and detect the various threats to the community's health.
