LaLine Angus' Nursing Portfolio

Coat of Arms
Welcome to my portfolio for the Pacific Lutheran University, School of Nursing.  The following pages are organized according to the 7 program outcomes set forth by the School of Nursing.  I will demonstrate my knowledge and proficiency in each area as well as walk through my journey to becoming a professional nurse.

Above you will find my Nursing Coat of Arms.  All of these photos represent what nursing means to me.
1.) To signify the courage it takes to chase (and catch) your dreams
2.) The sacred and precious start of life
3.) The knowledge that each of us tell a different story and I am willing to open my mind and listen, I will hear it.
4.) Compassion, as nothing is more important to being an exemplary nurse.
5.) Jumping off into the waiting arms of death.  As death is another real and amazing part of life.
6.) Finally, Pacific Lutheran University, as I feel very privileged to have been afforded the opportunity to get my education at such a quality university.

I have also included a poem that signifies what nursing means to me.  The last line sums up perfectly my nursing philosophy:  Knowing what it is to be human and to be humane.
