About Me
My name is LaLine Angus. I am a 36 year old wife and mother. I have
been married to my husband, Alec, for 10 years. My children range in
age from 28 to 13.
I am a senior nursing student at Pacific
Lutheran University. I was born and raised in Enumclaw, WA but I have
lived all over the country. Most recently in Ketchikan, AK where I
attended the University of Alaska Southeast. I have always wanted to
be a nurse, for as long as I can remember. I don't recall a specific
event that triggered my desire, I just knew it was what I would do.
Upon
graduation from High School I had planned to go right to a community
college to do my pre-requisites for nursing. It was shortly thereafter
that I found out I was pregnant with my son. I put my dreams of
nursing school on hold to raise my boy. Three years later his sister
came along which prolonged my higher education just a little more.
Finally when they were 6 and 3, respectively, I made my entry into
higher learning. After one semester I realized that working 40 hours a
week plus taking a full course load and raising two kids was daunting
task on my best day and impossible on my worst. I made the very easy
decision to push pause on my dream remote control for a few more years.
Finally,
in 2004 while living in Ketchikan I decided to go back to school. My
kids were 14 and 11, plenty old enough to help me to help us. I took
most of my pre-reqs in Alaska and then transferred to Highline
Community College to finish up the rest. I was accepted into the
Nursing Program in the Summer of 2006 and I haven't looked back.
