Barbara Slaughter


Barbara Slaughter has taught 9th grade Honors English for the past 26 years at Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Washington.

Barb is currently teaching Honors classes and serving part time as a professional development coordinator for Lewis and Clark; consequently she is well trained in the latest strategies and theories of instruction outside of College Board* as well as those from within.

She was chosen by her school district, Spokane Public Schools, as a Distinguished Teacher and has participated in a highly successful Vertical Team program in her high school for thirteen years.  Her English department is currently implementing the College Board’s* Springboard program.  In addition, she has trained at English Vertical Teams workshops sponsored by the College Board* and has conducted workshops for the past sixteen years in California and Washington.
