My Teamwork experience and its GrowthEntering into Business 190 I came to understand that there are more elements to Teamwork than I recognized and also comprehended more information on different aspects of teamworkI have been involved in the act of teamwork continually, some might say religiously since I was around five years of age. I have been involved in using my teamwork skills in several athletic activities that I have participated in, such as basketball, volleyball, cross country, fast-pitch, and track. Take basketball, volleyball and fast-pitch for instance they are all very team work oriented sports. In those particular three sports communication is a very necessary key. You have to communicate to your teammates the play that you want to run or is being ran, the positioning of the defense, and your placing on the court or the field and if you need to adjust depending on the situation. With all of the sports combined teamwork can also occur off the field or court and it is when a teammate might help another teammate out. Take for instance fast-pitch I had a high expertise on a slap bunting and my teammate did not and she needed to learn. I took the time out to help her in a positive manner my constructively criticizing her technique and not belittling her. That was team work because it was not necessary for me to help her but the saying is you are only as strong as your weakest team member and I wanted her to prosper. Throughout my high school career I took on several leadership roles, where I was the one to speak and and brainstorm many ideas. Never really was one of the quite leaders. Though, in this class working with my team to analyze a business and create a business plan I was more of a back seat team member. What I mean by that is that I did not have the expertise on what we were to accomplish so I sat back and my team mates taught and showed me the different techniques and ways and understanding of the goals we were to accomplish. It felt very good not to be in the front seat because if you are then we do you have the time to learn. The experience meant so much to me. |
Business 190The several assignments, test, reading, and group project has helped my teamwork mentality grow immensely. |
