The PLU library website has an online catalog that can be used to search for books and periodicals available in the University Archives, SIE Collection, ELCA Region I Archives, and the Nisqually Plains Collection.

First, go to the PLU library website using this URL: http://www.plu.edu/~libr

There are two ways to find the catalog. You can either click on "Find Books" located at the top of the page, or "Books" located under "Find." Refer to the following image:

At this point, you should see the catalog page with the fields labeled "Search for", "Search by", and "Limit to".

You can use this catalog to search for a specific book or periodical in the Archives and Special Collections, or you can search for a list of all books and periodicals available in each of the four collections.

Search for a specific book or periodical:

1. In the "Search for" field type in a key word, title or author of the book you want to find.
2. For the "Limit to" drop down menu, select "Archives & Special Collections."
3. For "Search by" list, select either author, title or subject.
4. Click "Search" for the results.

 

Search for all books and periodicals in a collection

1. In the "Search for" field type in:
        ARCH for University Archives
        SIE for SIE Collection
        ELCA for ELCA Region I Archives
        NISQ for Nisqually Plains Collection
2. For the "Limit to" drop down menu, select "Archives & Special Collections."
3. For "Search by" list, leave the default selection
4. Click "Search" for the results. This will give you a list of all books and periodicals in the University Archives if you typed in ARCH.
