ParticipationParticipate in processes that influence the health care delivery system Participating in Health CareNURS 260 gave me the opportunity to participate with a group of peers in presenting a debate about the pros and cons of sexual education in public schools. Our group chose to conduct a realistic skit of what a town meeting might look like when key members of a city come together to discuss their ideas and suggestions. Our presentation was based off an issues paper we had written as a group, which can be viewed by clicking the link below.Issues Paper Personal Reflections: Participating in this presentation, and hopefully influencing our peers about delivery of health care and health promotion was a rewarding experience. I intend to utilize what I learned from the experience of writing this paper and presenting on its content in future assignments and experiences.

Taking the Tour On November 12, 2008 I had to opportunity to take a guided tour through the new Heart Failure floor of Tacoma General Hospital. I was able to see the floor before patients were even admitted, and with multiple demonstrations and questions and answer discussions. Participating in this opportunity reaffirmed my passion for nursing and the health care system. |
