SWOT ANALYSISThe following sections are a swot analysis of myself. I believe it is important to reflect on your strengths and weaknesses and how that will effect your future, both positively in negatively. Strengths Leadership Leadership is one of my strengths. I've been involved with many different kinds of leadership programs/roles throughout the last couple of years and they include: ROTC, Boy Scouts, and captain of the football team in high school. I currently am serving in a key leadership position in ROTC. I am in charge of making sure all of the training happens for over 120 cadets. This has been a challenge for me but I have learned a lot along the way. I believe these skills will serve me well when I am a platoon leader and have forty men under me. Determination Determination is my second biggest strength. I truly believe that without determination a person will not get very far in life. Life is often times hard and we have to have the will power to drive on through. I had a mentor that taught this to me and I try to impart this skill to other people that I come in contact with. Determination is one of the key ingredients to success in life. Weakness Organization I believe that organization is one of my biggest weakness. I notice that when I get really busy my organization tends to slack. This is the worst thing that can happen. When I get really busy my organization needs to be at its best. My organizational skills I know are a problem. However, I have been working on them and I've been slowing making self-improvements. OpportunitiesCollege I see college as the biggest opportunity in my life right now. PLU has given a well rounded liberal arts education with a profession that I can get a job with in almost any economy. Also many doors will be opening with just my degree in my hand. ROTC ROTC has been a great program for me and I am a huge advocate for it. The took a kid (me) just out of high school and turned him into a officer in just four years. They guided me to becoming a well rounded individual who is a scholar, a leader, and a athlete. I think this program is one of the best decisions that I have made in my whole life. Threats (Challenges) Overloaded My biggest threat is trying to balance too many things with a limited amount of time. I have a heavy workload right now and I continually try to take on more and more tasks. It catches up with me from time to time and I usually get into a jam. I need to remember what is important (i.e.family and school work) and stick to those things. |
