Policy Statement
Goals for ASPLU:
- Internal growth and inspiration:
- Create a focus of fun and excitement around the spirit of student leadership
- Inspire new student leadership through:
- Keeping ASPLU positions full and active.
- Using resources to encourage students to take on greater leadership positions.
- With the success of this year’s Global Awareness Team, find an outlet for sustainable global awareness support.
- External development and encouragement:
- Identify student wants and needs through surveying and Senate constituency meetings
- Target programming to these wants and needs
- Provide feedback to students about actions and decisions of ASPLU
- Maximize the opportunities of the Cave and Outdoor Rec. to offer diverse programming.
- Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to enhance communication with students about important issues and/or changes at the University.

- Current ASPLU PR/Personnel Director, Spring 2005-current
- PR – promote the APSLU organization and activities/events
- Personnel – resource for internal support and needs
- The Order of the Phoenix , circa the Goblet of Fire release

Policy Statement
Goals for ASPLU:
- Promote ASPLU as an organization and increase student participation in ASPLU sponsored events.
- Develop the dynamic of ASPLU to exhibit the fun and excitement that IS student leadership.
- Give other students the opportunity to develop as leaders through ASPLU by:
- Making sure ASPLU positions are full and active.
- Having resources to help students get involved in student leadership positions outside of ASPLU.
- Collaborating with other student leadership groups.
- Survey PLU community to determine the specific wants and needs that exist.
- Utilize committees of students to vocalize and put into action these needs and wants, especially through the Programs Directorship and its Chairs and the Senate.
- Continue and increase ASPLU’s involvement in the promotion of global awareness at PLU through the Global Awareness Team and collaborative efforts around campus.
- Continue to enhance diverse programming reaching out to various groups at PLU.
- Use current structure and resources of the CAVE and Outdoor Recreation to explore different programming opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and staff to enhance communication with students about important issues and/or changes at the University.
Qualifications:
- Current ASPLU Religious Relations Director, 05-06
- Worked with religious clubs and Campus Ministries to plan events such as PLUnite and the 30 Hour Famine.
- Helped start the ASPLU Global Awareness Team, coordinate Team for 05-06 school year.
- Helped organize and run the “Do You See Orange?” T-Shirt Campaign.
- Helped to organize other programs: “Invisible Children” film showing, World AIDS Day, Lives Are At Stake, Ambassador Barr discussion.
