Lutes Place Third at Whitman-Whitworth
Invitational
Results
YAKIMA – Pacific Lutheran placed third among five teams at
the Whitman-Whitworth Invitational men’s golf tournament held
Sunday at Apple Tree Golf Course.
Whitworth led the way with a 310, beating Puget Sound by one strike
and Pacific Lutheran by five strokes. Pacific finished fourth with
a 327 and Whitman was fifth at 352.
The 18-hole event, played at the site of the Northwest Conference
tournament scheduled for April 19-20, was played in cold, rainy
and windy conditions.
Whitworth’s Patrick Dorsing fired an even-par 72 to take
medalist honors, nipping PLU’s Jason Casey by one stroke for
that honor. Rounding out the Pacific Lutheran scores were Adam Story
78, Chris Packard 79, Barrett Stamps 85, Kyle Spitzer 88 and Brian
Erickson 102.
