Lutes Open With 6-3 Loss to NAIA Power
Lewis-Clark State
YAKIMA, Wash. - Pacific Lutheran opened its 2007 men's tennis schedule
with a loss on Saturday afternoon, but the Lutes made NAIA power
Lewis-Clark State battle hard to pick up the 6-3 victory. The match
was held as part of the Apple Cup Tournament.
David Miller and Jeff Loranger won singles matches for the Lutes.
Miller, PLU's No. 1 singles player, defeated Ara Farkissian in straight
sets, 7-5, 6-1. Playing at No. 4, Loranger defeated Ari Zaslow 1-6,
6-3 and then 10-4 in the super tiebreaker.
The Lutes' top team of Miller and Justin Larimore defeated Farkissian
and Borja Molas, 8-6, for the Lutes' lone doubles points.
Pacific Lutheran returns to action Feb. 9-10 with four matches
in the PLU/UPS Invitational at the UPS indoor tennis courts.
