Lutes Suffer 7-2 Loss to Pomona-Pitzer
CLAREMONT, Calif. – Pacific Lutheran’s Spring Break
trip to Southern California didn’t figure to be an easy one,
and the difficult times continued for the Lutes on Wednesday as
they dropped a 7-2 decision to Pomona-Pitzer.
The Sagehens won all three doubles points to get off to a good
start against the Lutes and then finished off the visitors with
four singles wins, including a pair of three-set victories.
The Lutes got their team points from Justin Larimore and Justin
Peterson in singles. Larimore defeated Blake Phillips 6-0, 6-3 at
No. 4, and Peterson whipped Ben Kaufman 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5.
With the loss, the Lutes fall to 0-4 on the Spring Break trip and
to 9-8 for the season. They finish their Southern California sojourn
