Miller-Larimore Advance to Ojai Tournament
Doubles Championship
OJAI, Calif. - David Miller and Justin Larimore beat two more opponents
on Saturday to advance to the championship doubles match at the
Ojai Tournament. In doing so, the PLU duo become the first Lute
netters to reach a championship match at the prestigious West Coast
small college tournament.
Miller and Larimore, the No. 8 seed, will face No. 5 seed Max Liberty-Point
and Brian Pybas from UC Santa Cruz at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
After winning twice on Friday, Miller and Larimore continued to
play outstanding doubles, rolling to a pair of 8-3 victories. In
the quarterfinals they disposed of unseeded Eric Chow and David
Oehm from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and in the semifinals they topped
No. 2 seed Max Ortiz and Matt Seeberger from UC Santa Cruz.
On the other side of the bracket, Liberty-Point and Pybas defeated
No. 1 seed Guillaume Schils and Lawrence Wang from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps,
9-7.
