PLU Doubles Team to Play for ITA Title

WALLA WALLA – Justin Larimore and David Miller, Pacific Lutheran's top doubles team and the number one seed, will play Whitman pair Nadeem Kassam and Matt Solomon on Sunday for the doubles championship in the PNW/ITA Regional hosted by Whitman College.

Larimore and Miller advanced to the final with an 8-3 win over Christoph Fuchs and Robbie Munday, also from Whitman.

In men's singles, Miller reached the semifinals by beating two Whitman players on Saturday. He defeated Justin Hayashi, 6-2, 6-2, then took out Kassam in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-2. Miller, the No. 3 seed in singles, joins three other Whitman players in the semifinals where he will play the No. 1 seed, Phalkun Mam.

Among the PLU women, Megan Proffitt had the top showing in singles, beating teammate Nicole Petrzella, 6-3, 6-3, to reach the quarterfinal round where she was defeated.

The doubles teams of Erika Feltus and Petrzella advanced to the semifinal round before being eliminated.

The tournament concludes on Sunday.
