Donovan Named NWC Female Swimmer of the
Week

Jessie Donovan
(Mount Vernon, Wash. / Mount Vernon HS) has earned Northwest Conference
Women's Swimmer of the Week honors after leading the Lutes to wins
against Linfield and Pacific last weekend.
Donovan swam seasons best in the 100 backstroke (1:00.51) in leading
the Lutes to a 105-100 victory over Linfield on Friday night. Her
time in the event is the seventh fastest 100 backstroke ever recorded
by a PLU woman swimmer. She also won the 200 freestyle (2:05.12)
and placed second in the 400 individual medley (5:11.35) in the
same meet. Against Pacific, Donovan won the 50 freestyle (25.91)
and placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:42.49).
Donovan currently has the fastest recorded times in the Northwest
Conference in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke.
