Wochnick Earns NWC Track Athlete Honor

Megan Wochnick started her outdoor season by winning the PLU Invitational women's hammer throw on Saturday with a NCAA national meet provisional qualifying mark of 153-2. That performance also netted her the Northwest Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor.

Two week ago Wochnick, a senior from Wilsonville (Ore.) High School, missed by two inches qualifying for the NCAA Division III indoor national meet in the women’s weight throw. Her winning hammer throw on Saturday was well off her personal best of 169-7 set last year, but was a good start in her effort to earn outdoor track & field All-America honors. She has previously earned indoor track & field All-America honors.
