Results
SEATTLE – The Pacific Lutheran track and field team competed
at the Ken Shannon Invitational today in Seattle, Wash. The meet
was hosted by the University of Washington.
Faven Araya continued to move up in the national rankings as she
ran 1:03.28 in the 400-meter hurdles. The time ties Araya for the
ninth fastest mark in the nation in Division III, making her a strong
candidate for the NCAA Division III national meet scheduled for
May 24-26 in Oshkosh, Wis.
The throwing crew had a good showing today as two Lutes set season
best marks. Jeff Nielson had a toss of 42-0 in the shot put, followed
by a throw of 107-0 in the hammer, both improving his previous marks
this season. Taylor Hacker followed in suit by throwing 38-10 1/4
in the shot put to improve her season’s best mark by more
than a foot.
The Lutes return to Seattle next week to compete in the Ken Forman
Invitational. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, with action getting
underway at 9 a.m.
