Lutes Come Up Empty at National Championships
OSHKOSH, Wisc. – Pacific Lutheran's four entrants in the
NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships came up empty
in the three-day meet.
Freshman Karin Hatch, the Lutes' lone competitor in Saturday's
final day of the meet, threw the javelin 124-11 to finish 16th.
On Friday, sophomore Taylor Hacker and senior Megan Wochnick were
unable to get out of the preliminaries in the women's hammer throw.
Hacker threw 158-4 to finish 11th and Wochnick was one inch back
at 158-3 to finish 13th.
On Thursday, sophomore Faven Araya failed to advance to Saturday's
final in the 400-meter hurdles. Araya finished fifth out six runners
in her Thursday evening heat. Her time, 1:03.03, placed her 11th
in the preliminaries.
